summer days

Brielle's first pool experience this summer she preferred the baby pool. Then we started swim lessons and it was night & day when we took her to our community pool the second time around. The pool this summer was definitely her happy place. Thankfully, we got blessed with a fairly laid back baby and he didn't mind being out in the heat and would just sleep.

This last minute lake trip for an extended weekend turned out to be amazing. It was also the perfect end to my maternity leave. Beckett was perfect and slept in the rock n play outside with us (he was in the shade) while we enjoyed the sun & drinks and at night... he was sleeping through the night. My parents rented a house right on the lake and although we didn't have a boat, we had the next best thing --> A GIANT RAFT. It was a hit for both the adults & the kids.

These two together just make my heart melt into a little puddle.  Brielle is 2.5 years old and it seems like she has grown up so much in the past 1.5 months.  He is the first thing she runs to as soon as she gets home from school and it's the sweetest.  Crossing my fingers this love sticks and doesn't turn into jealousy.  So far, so good!

I joke that Beckett is like a one month old. Forget the sleepy newborn pictures, this little dude just wanted to be awake. Brielle is completely OBSESSED with her brother and I can't wait to see their relationship grow as he gets older.
